The Letter Writers Alliance

Recently, tipped off by a link on The Noisy Plume's blog, I found myself on the blog of the Letter Writers Alliance, an organization aimed at preserving the art of the handwritten letter in the digital age. Being something of a handwritten-letter-lover, I joined up.

On Friday, my welcome kit arrived in the mail, with a note describing the organization, my membership card (along with password to the members-only site), and a cute button that I forgot to photograph. My new membership has given me a renewed commitment to writing more letters -- I may even sign up for the site's pen pal exchange program.

You can read the Letter Writers Alliance blog here, and if you want to become a member, too, you can sign up here (it's only $3, plus $5 for shipping your membership info to you).

Have a great week!

Awesome :) I try to write to my penpals by hand, sometimes I fail and have to type the letters but they still go in the mail rather than email - does that count?

I would love to sign up but the shipping charge is much more expensive if you're outside the US.
