Organizing magazine clippings: any tips?

This week, I decided to tackle the huge task of going through the stacks and stacks of back issues that I've saved of my favorite magazines to pull ideas I like and recycle the rest. But this project has left me with something of a mess, and I would love to hear your tips.

How do you organize ideas and clippings from magazines? How about recipes that you pull to try later? Organization has never been my strong suit, so any advice you've got would be great.

I had a similar problem. My lovely wife bought me an inexpensive hard cover sketch book. I clip what I like out of the magazine and tape them into the sketch book and I look through it when I need inspiration. Have an awesome Wednesday Katie!

I use a binder with page protectors to keep my random things. It works if you create sections for different stuff. Also you could scan them into the computer if want to take the time then you would have a digital copy and could throw away the paper.

The binder with page protectors works great when used with dividers, so you create sections. Also, inexpensive photo albums with plastic inserts work well. If you tape to paper, the tape eventually disintegrates. I also use a large file box with file folders.
Have fun!

My Mum used to use a lever arch folder with the plastic pockets in them - that way you have access to both sides of the page if needed.

The other option is a ring bound sketch book or scrap book - staple bound ones have the tendancy to not cope well with lots of extra bits stuck in them.

And I have a more radical approach: I've decided there is no shortage of beautiful photos, inspirational images, great recipes, and articles on the Internet. I've learned to save almost nothing out of magazines. I keep them for a while, enjoy them, and then recycle, confident that I don't need to save them in order to be inspired and that I can always find something similar online or at the library. It's very freeing!
